Every family business has a map of the places it has called home. For Tibarumal & Sons Jewellers, Shaikpet, that map begins in the old city of Hyderabad and runs west to where we are today.
The lanes of Charkaman, where the city first knew our name
Charkaman, the four arches just north of Charminar, sits at the centre of one of the oldest jewellery districts in India. For generations, the lanes around it have been where Hyderabad families came to buy gold, pearls and diamonds for weddings and festivals.
This is where Tibarumal & Sons was established in 1920 and where the family built its reputation. In those lanes, a jeweller's name was earned one family at a time, through purity that held up, prices that were fair, and service that continued long after the sale. Why the move west
Hyderabad has changed enormously. Over the decades, many of the families who had shopped with us for generations moved to Jubilee Hills, Banjara Hills, Film Nagar, Tolichowki, Manikonda and Gachibowli. Visiting the old city became a long journey through heavy traffic.
Moving to Shaikpet brought us closer to the people we serve. Our showroom at RP Business Park is central to west Hyderabad, easier to reach, and more comfortable for long consultations such as bridal shopping, where families often spend several hours choosing pieces together.
What stayed the same
The address changed. The way we work did not.
- The family: Tibarumal & Sons is still run by the same family, now across four generations.
- The craft: we still make and source the jewellery Hyderabad is known for, from plain gold and polki to pearls and gemstone work.
- The relationships: many of our customers first visited us at Charkaman, and they still bring their old pieces to us for cleaning, repair, remaking and exchange.
- The standards: hallmarked gold, clear billing and honest advice remain the basis of every sale.
Shaikpet today
Our Shaikpet showroom is designed for unhurried visits. You can sit with your family, try on pieces, compare designs and talk through budgets without pressure. We also offer WhatsApp and video-call consultations for customers who cannot visit in person.
